William J Riley, A.K.A. Mr. Bill, 10/21/1939 - 08/26/2025
William Joseph Riley (Mr.Bill) of Pleasant Ridge, MI passed away August 26, 2025 peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born October 21st 1939 to the late Lucille Romaine Riley and Earl William Riley in Pontiac, Michigan. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Roger Paul Riley and Robert Eugene Riley.
In 1957 he began his studies at the University of Michigan towards a Liberal Arts degree. In April of 1961 Mr.Bill began serving in the United States Navy in California. He served until August of 1968. From there he went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakland University.
Over the years Mr. Bill held different positions in a variety of jobs, from unit mail clerk to a professor at ITT teaching computer classes. He was also an animal patrol officer in Austin, Texas. He retired from General Dynamics where he wrote manuals on how to operate the tanks. He frequently boasted that he held over 45 jobs in his lifetime.
Mr.Bill was a kind man who always greeted you with a hug and a smile. He was generous, selfless and loving. He will be missed for his conversations and stories. He loved good food and family gatherings.
He is survived by his children Angie Blake, Denise Gonzalez, and Ramon Gonzalez (Loletta). Also his niece Amber Riley and nephew Andrew Riley.
He leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren who he adored. Ramon and Felisha Richardson (Nathan and Kylee), Ryan and Taylor Richardson (Andrew, Amari, and Abel) , and Brandon and Justin Rabackoff and Ashley Blake. Also survived by a host of family and friends.
Mr.Bill's warmth, strength, love and humor will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He was truly a special man , and his memory will be cherished forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7th from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the Funeral Service at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
