Thelma Sanborn's Obituary
Thelma J. Sanborn, age 82 of Hazel Park, MI. She passed away on March 4, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI. Thelma was born on February 11, 1929 at her family home in Detroit, MI.
She is survived by her children; Christine (Roy) LaPointe, Barbara (Al Youngdahl) Sanborn, Richard (Beverly) Sanborn, Kathleen (Brad Ridgeway) Sanborn and Robert (Lisa) Sanborn. Grandmother of 7 and Great-Grandmother of 1. Sister of Louise (Herb) Friesen and Virginia (Orvil) Conrad.
Thelma is predeceased by her husband, Alfred; a daughter, Joan Theresa Sanborn; and a sister, Carol Hackenbruch.
Thelma strongly believed in living her Christian Faith through volunteering and works of Charity. She worked with the Girl Scouts, served as a Regional Area President for the Council of Catholic Women, and was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and School since 1957. She loved to read, travel, garden and spend time with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm and Tuesday after 9 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, MI. The Funeral will be on Tuesday at 11:30 am Instate followed by the 12:00 noon Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park, MI. Burial White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, MI.
