"Uncle" Rick, rest in peace. You're very much alive in my heart and memories. You've always been an endless source of love and compassion, and I know that lives on in so many people you've touched who were inspired by your kindness. Nikki, Marie, Allen, and your family and friends, you are so lucky to have had so much time with a truly wonderful person in your orbit. Sending hugs and lots of love. I hope that Hawkeye Animal Rescue is flooded with support too. <3
I am so sorry for the families loss. I really didn’t know Rick that well. But I do remember how kind he was during our bowing days. May he RIP.
Dear Marie and Nikki,
Although we only saw your family a few times through our dear friend Doris, we're sending our deepest sympathy to all of you. We heard such wonderful stories about Rick from Doris - he certainly sounds like an amazing man! We're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. God bless all of you.

Uncle Rick- he was a man who wore many hats he was a husband, a brother, a father, a friend, a uncle. He was a Knight of Columbus, postal worker, and even a Santa Claus for us but most of all he was a kind man to all that he knew. I met him only after his stroke but he took me in as part of the family right away when me and Adam had started dating. Every holiday between birthdays, Easter, and, Christmas it was spent at Uncle Rick and Aunt Marie's. He loved old westerns, playing cards, and watching sports. I remember when we took care of Pop - him and Marie were there every day supporting him, watching TV, and just staying by his side. When our little melly had her birthday party he didn't hesitate afterwards to give a helping hand cleaning up. Melody loved him dearly. He was a gentle soul who who will be missed by so many but will never ever be forgotten. Love you so much Uncle Rick. ❤️💐✝️️
Rick and I worked together From 2002 to the day he retired. If I was having a bad day, Rick would talk me into a good mood. Rick talked about his family often and would of done anything for them. He will be deeply missed. R I P my friend.
Rick was a person filled with true humanity. He had a fantastic smile and a twinkle in his eye.
Always a great companion he made very strong connections with Marie’s family due to his kind reliable nature and a sense of humour that was infectious.
Rick’s ability to make others feel welcome and respected was down to his natural charm.
He made the most of his time and found many ways to make his life fuller by being open to new people and tasks. His life was well lived and wonderful to witness.
Thank you, Marie, for sharing Rick with us.
