One of the happiest faces I have ever seen I first saw at St Pius X Church on Joy Rd in 1984 when I met Mr & Mrs Hilla.
Whether they were coming into Church, leaving Church cleaning it, stripping and waxing the floors, Marianne Hilla’s face shone happy with love of God and neighbor.
I am grateful to have the memory of her smile permanently in my mind along with the memory of her devotion to St Philomena. She was true soldier of Christ, faithful to the end. I pray she was in heaven a half hour before the devil knew she was dead.
Love you Grandma! You taught me to put God first, offer up my sufferings and say a Hail Mary whenever anyone was in trouble.
