Madelon E. Moore's Obituary
Madelon Moore was born in Mesick, Michigan on December 3, 1929 to James and Ethel Durand. Her great-grandparents were American Indians. She enjoys her volunteer activities, cooking, sewing and gardening. She passed away on July 6, 2023 in Hazel Park, Michigan. Beloved Wife of the late Irvin James Moore. Dear Mother of Andrea (the late Tom) Harper and Debbra Moore. She is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Madelon Moore is a volunteer for the County Health Division's Child Health Conference clinics. At these well-baby clinics, volunteers greet clients, weigh and measure children and record the results. In 1986 she worked almost five times as much as the average volunteer there. Her other activities include delivering government commodities for home-bound senior citizens, teaching ceramics, and working for the Red Cross blood bank, the Hazel Park Citizen's Advisory Committee and the Mobile Communications Support Unit of the Hazel Park Police Department. She has logged more than 20 years of Oakland service with the Girl Scouts, with the Democratic Party and the Webster School Senior Citizens.
AS A ROLE MODEL: Dependability, caring and concern for others plus a cheerful disposition are some of the attributes Madelon Moore brings to the Child Health Conference.
"I was raised on a farm. Neighbor helping neighbor is how we all survived, especially during the Depression. No matter how poor you are, you can give of yourself, and it costs you nothing. But, it reaps many rewards." — Madelon Moore
