Kent "Buddha" Howard's Obituary
Kent Howard, 48, of Madison Heights, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, August 30th at his home. He was born to parents Joe and Lauralee Howard on February 18, 1974, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Kent graduated from Madison High School, received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University in 1997 and his Master of Business Administration from Michigan State in 2012. Kent was known fondly as “Buddha” by family and friends.
Kent is survived by his two sons Aiden and Brendan (Jamie), mother Lauralee, brothers Keith and Kevin (Anna) and sister Kim (Brian), and many loving family members including his Uncle Larry and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joe and brother Kurt (Sherry). Kent was a loving father and friend to everyone he knew.
Kent was known for his love of laughter and music, his passion and pride for his alma mater, Penn State, and his unending love for his boys and his family. He was blessed to have a great group of friends who were brothers to him. His favorite pastime was boating on Wamplers Lake at his family cottage. He loved travel, concerts, golf, and Penn State football. Kent had a successful 25-year career as Senior Vice President at NGK Spark Plugs. He recently started a business venture with a close friend and colleague and enjoyed his time at their “Yacht Club.” He valued time with loved ones, whether it was friends or family, and would do anything in his power to see those he cared about safe and happy. His greatest passion was love.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. and the service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Hopcroft Funeral Home in Madison Heights, Michigan.
