Josephine was a compassionate, caring person who would sacrifice almost anything in order to help and support family, friends and even stray animals. She lived at her home in Hazel Park for about 60-years. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Magdalene Church for 60-years too. She and late husband Phil were active volunteers at numerous St Mary Magdalene events and functions over many of those years.
Josephine had a series of debilitating strokes beginning on Thanksgiving eve this year. She lost almost all movement on her right side and lost the ability to swallow and speak. From time to time she would show encouraging signs of improvement but they were followed by more decline. She spent Christmas and New Year's Eve in a nursing home. She was able to spend the last week of her life in her own home, with family under 24-hour hospice care by daughter Susan with lots of help from Cynthia, son in-law Gary and daughter in-law Gloria.
I would like to thank family and friends for your support and prayers.
We miss you mom/ grandma. We also miss Nancy who passed away too soon in 2015.
With Love from Jim, Gloria, Serena, Benjamin,Tushy & Snowflake
