Joan O. Strong, age 61 of Detroit, Michigan passed away on July 8, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. She was born on June 10, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan.
Joan worked as a Teacher in the Detroit Public School System, retiring after more than 30 years of service. She had earned a Masters of Education Degree.
Beloved mother of Nicola Strong. Dear sister of Nettie Williams, the late Horatio Strong and the late Reginald Strong. Caring aunt of Alecia Golden and Kimberly Williams. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Strong.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Funeral Service on Thursday at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit.
