Gerald Edward Gutowski's Obituary
Gerald Edward Gutowski, born to the late Edmund and Helen Gutowski on April 1, 1947. He was a proud skilled tradesman at Chrysler for 41 years. He loved horses, sports and the Spartans, rarely missing a game. He volunteered as a Den Leader and Cubmaster for Pack 1914 at Cromie Elementary School in Warren and was a Committee Chair for BSA Venture Crew 1845 out of Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit.
Gerald loved music and had the voice of an angel. He performed in school operettas at St. Florian’s and sang in the choir and as a cantor at St. Dennis. He would get requests to sing The Little Drummer Boy every Christmas which was one of his mother’s favorites. He serenaded his wife of 52 years, Bernadette, with “This Magic Moment” by The Drifters frequently, which was playing when he proposed. He would sing a special song to people every time that he heard a sneeze. He even shared the stage with his grandchildren when he performed in White Christmas and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Warren Civic Theatre.
Gerald was a devoted family man. He coached his daughter’s soccer team and never missed a gymnastics meet or game she was cheering in. When his grandchildren were born, they became the light of his life. He never missed a baseball or soccer game and was at every theatre performance and dance recital even up to a month before his passing. None would ever compare to the profound love he felt for his beautiful wife.
Gerald is survived by his wife Bernadette of 52 years, his daughter Geri Elise (Brian) Conner as well as sisters Susan (Ted) Gray, Debbie Strucienski and Kathie (Mickey) Pokoj. He also leaves behind 4 beautiful grandchildren Jonah, Noah (Rachel), Kerrigan and Ella, many sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws along with several nieces and nephews.
Gerald’s faith meant so much to him. His connection to the Lord with his faithful friends, The St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Warriors sustained him.
Those who knew Gerald knew that his rough and tough exterior was a cover for the warm “teddy bear” within.

Bless Every Breath That You Take,
Bless Every Sneeze That You Make

Bless Your Little Heart For Loving Me”
