George Suarez's Obituary
Loving father of Linda Meredeth, John (Angie) Suarez, Cynthia (Kenneth) Kopich, Justin, and Sara Suarez. Dear grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 9.He is also survived by his brother Ronald Suarez and sisters Norma Suarez-Wrubel and Carol Cobb.
He is a current Oakland County Commissioner, was Mayor of Madison Heights from 1977-1998, after serving as a city councilman. He retired from the Oakland County Road Commission in 1997 as Director of Central Operations. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus 7239, VFW Post 140, F.O.E. 3206, Madison Heights Goodfellows, and has served on numerous commissions and advisory boards. The Madison Heights Nature Center was named in honor of him.
Visitation Thursday 3-9 pm, Friday 2-9 pm (Rosary at 7pm) at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Rd, Madison Heights. The funeral will be Saturday at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Madison Heights 10:30 am Instate followed by an 11 am Mass. Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, Beaumont Hospice, or to the Madison Heights Nature Center.
