Dempsey Ottis Cabe, age 92 of Troy, Michigan and formerly of Warren, Michigan passed away on May 3, 2022 in Troy, Michigan. He was born on June 25, 1929 in Jackson County, North Carolina to Ottis and Mary Cabe.
Beloved Husband of the late Joan Cabe who passed away on March 27, 1984. Dempsey and Joan were married on May 4, 1951 in Toledo, Ohio. Dear Father of Roger (Christine) Cabe and Rachel (Donald) McCoy. Grandfather of Justin (Amy) Cabe, Christopher (Patcharin) Cabe, Jessica (Stephen) Grima, Amanda (Corey) Coyne and Eric (Miranda) McCoy. Great-Grandfather of Adelyn, Evelyn and Robert Grima, Lily, Emma, Abby and Brendan Cabe, Raelynn Coyne and Finnegan McCoy. Brother of Rhmer, Winston, Helen, Carlin, Lillian, Marvin and Dautry.
Dempsey worked at Chrysler for 10 years as a security guard. He worked at General Motors (GM) for 30 years as a HiLo Driver and retired. He stayed busy in his retirement by traveling with his friend Edith Crisp. One of his favorite places to travel was returning to his home town in the Smoky Mountains. He also loved gardening and most of all spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
