Curtis L. Browder III's Obituary
Curtis L Browder, III (Hazel Park, MI) was called home unexpectedly on September 16, 2017 at the age of 57.
Curtis was born on September 13, 1960 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Curtis Lee and Barbara Jean Browder. He graduated from Central High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1979. On September 21, 1981 and July 3, 1985 respectively, he welcomed his two sons, Antjuan and Anthony, into the world and they became his driving force.
Over the years, Curtis had many different careers, including tree trimmer, auto mechanic, brick layer, butcher, cab and truck driver, as well as cook and landscaper. His children will remember him as a hard working, passionate, determined father that instilled his values in them and encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Curtis was an avid outdoorsman. From fishing, boating and camping to going hunting up North (with no weapons!), Curtis enjoyed all aspects of outdoor life. "Poppa", as he was called by his grandchildren, was dedicated to his grandchildren and loved taking them fishing and camping.
Curtis was an accomplished carpenter. Whenever he could, he built useful things rather than buying them. Along with building with his hands, Curtis was an adept mechanic, often times working on his and family member's vehicles.
Curtis is survived by his two brothers Bernard (Gwenette) Browder, Michael (Shannadee) Browder; three sisters Debbra Browder, Tenicia (Winston) Smith, Philicia Browder; his two sons Antjuan (Jacky) Lee Browder Sr and Anthony (Amanda) Maurice Browder; 10 grandkids (Alexis, Trinity, Amaiah, Anthony, Julia, Antjuan Jr, Andre, Curtis, Alexander, AnneBelle) and countless loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Visitation to be held on Friday, September 22nd from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. A funeral service is scheduled for 3 pm on September 23, 2017 at Plymouth United Church of Christ, 600 E.Warren in Detroit Michigan.
