Cecil Winfree's Obituary
Cecil O. Winfree, age 83 a lifelong resident of Madison Heights. He left to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011 in Madison Heights, Mich. Cecil was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1927 in Palmyra, Tenn.
He worked for Eller Sign Company of Detroit. He was one of the workers who hung the Ambassador Bridge sign in 1952.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Catherine (Mow) Winfree whom he married on Oct. 15, 1946. Beloved father of Debbie Muraszewski, Cathy (Richard) Bergen and Lou Ann (Bill) James and a special niece, Terry Smith. Grandfather of Scott (Michelle), Frank, J.C., Bill (Jamie), Mindy (Eric), Chaz (Sue), Amanda (Jed) and Jeremiah (Diana). Great-Grandfather of Kendre, Karrah, Marley, Caleb, Ethan, Siene, Gavin, Hailey, Nicholas, Brody, Bailee and Aiden. Brother of Audrey (Carl) Stephenson.
He is pre-deceased by a daughter, Edith Hurt in 2009.
Visitation Sunday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Funeral Service Tuesday with 10:30 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, Mich. Burial at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Mich. Donations can be made to Season’s Hospice of Madison Heights, Mich.
