William George Godard Sr.'s Obituary
William George Godard, Sr., age 79 of Warren, Michigan passed away April 21, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 11, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan.
Beloved husband of Sandra Godard. They were married on June 25, 2004 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan.
He is survived by his children William George Godard, Jr. (Julie), Julie Godard, Adam Godard, Aaron Godard (Heather) Meliisa Godard (Donnie), Tina Allen (David) , Deanna McCarren, Michael Tafanelli and Shannon Buza (Jeffrey).
He was the proud grandfather of 25 and great-grandfather of 15.
He is also survived by brother Gary (Kathleen), and sister Jeanine (Colin) along with many nieces and nephew's.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Dorothy along with his brothers Donald and Michael.
He was born in Detroit and raised in Madison Heights where he played the drums and was a member of the marauders marching band. He was a graduate of Madison High School. He then went into the Navy where he served as a Radio Man on the USS Guadalcanal. Upon exiting the Navy, he began his career as a life-long master electrician in the IBEW.
In his spare time he loved to golf. He played softball and hockey. He loved to entertain and sing karaoke. He was always the life of the party. He loved feeding his fish while entertaining them with music.
He was a lifelong member of the Madison Heights Eagles as well as active in the VFW.
His visitation will be held at Hopcroft Funeral Home in Madison Heights.
His viewing will be on Friday, May 3 from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Military Service will begin at 6:00 pm, Eagles Service will follow and priest to conclude services.
There will be a memorial luncheon at the Madison Heights Eagles at 604 W. 11 Mile Rd. from 11-3 on Saturday, May 4.
