To Billy's friends and family:
I happened to be reading the obits in the News yesterday. I thought it was weird when my parents would do this but I guess it's something "old" people do. Not that I'm becoming a part of that bunch or anything. It was a shock to see that Billy is gone. We'd see him quite often at the Latern and catch up on things.
I always thought in high school that we'd see Billy on Saturday Night Live or the Tonight show or something. His sense of humor was amazing.
God Bless!
Thinking of you guys.
Billy, long time best friend. We go back to Kindergarten, Jr. High and High School. Many years past High School hanging out together. All those years at Michaels Cabaret. You were my best friend growing up and still to this day even though we didn't see much of each other over the years. I will never forget the times we had " best times of my life ". Seems like we were together hanging out 7 days a week. If I could go back in time for just a week, hanging with you would be my first choice. You were a great guy. Loved by more than you could imagine. Everyone that had the privilidge to know you will miss you. There is not a person you could not make laugh. Gonna miss you Billy. Mom and Pops are waiting for you. Peace Be With You.
Our prayers are with the Eddy Family. Billy and I were both avid collectors of sports memorabilia, dating back to the 70's. I often would stop over to visit with Bill to see his newest additions to his collections. My favorite story about Bill and I was back at Lamphere in 1974. He and I were walking down the hallway. We were eating popsicles and Bill decided to give me a hip check that sent me through the window. As I crashed into the window Bill says to me don't drop your popsicle. I did receive 55 stitches to close my wounds. again my condolences to the Eddy family.
When I worked at D&L Billy and I became friends immediately. We had so much fun together. Even when I was in a bad mood Billy could make me laugh. I realize now that Billy was just the funny guy on the outside - inside it was much deeper. I am very sad about his passing and will always keep him in my heart. My sympathy goes out to his family.
From the class of 1975! As I spoke with many former classmates in the past couple of days. Bill you had to be one of the funniest guys. Their was a never a dull moment when Billy was around! You could never get one by Bill! He could answer just about anything to do with sports. Bill your charlie horses hurt for days! Billy had the sweetest PINTO (baby blue). Thanks Bill for all the wonderful laughs we are going to miss you dearly! A few statements from former class mates.
I am so sorry to hear about Billy. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Jim I would love to hear from you, let me know if there is anything I can do. Sue Palmer 734-846-8301.
To the Eddy Family --
My deepest condolences on the loss of your brother Billy. I worked with Billy at D&L. He was always one of my most favorite co-workers. He truly was a great guy and co-worker and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
