William Beattie's Obituary
BEATTIE, WILLIAM C., age 84 of Royal Oak, died February 15, 2014, at Evergreen Health and Living Center, Southfield. He was born December 21, 1929, in Detroit.
Beloved husband of Doris. Dear father of Lori (Kurt) Taylor and Janet (David) Adamczyk. Loving grandfather of Jenna & Rachel Motyka and Nikolaas & Sarah Adamczyk. Brother of the late James Windfield, he is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He retired from General Motors, afer many years of service as a Journeyman repairman. He also worked on tanks for the U.S. Army TACOM. He enjoyed cars and deer hunting, and functions with his grandchildren, such as dance recitals, softball & hockey games, and swim meets.
Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2014, from 3-9 PM, with Funeral Service Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R, Madison Heights. Burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak.
Donations may be made to either Beaumont Hospice or National Parkinson Foundation.
