Virgil D. Kimble's Obituary
Virgil D. Kimble, age 86 of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on October 24, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1934 in Parsons, Kansas to Virgil L. and Ellen (maiden Marks) Kimble.
Beloved Husband of the late Loretta (maiden Ledbetter) Kimble, who passed away on February 6, 2010. Virgil and Loretta were married on September 20, 1953, in Detroit, MI. Dear Father of Darlene (the late Gary) Durham of Madison Heights, Michael (Karene) Kimble of Sterling Heights and Lori (Steve) Cash of Northville. Grandfather of Rachel Sims, Leah Durham, Deanna Durham, Paul (Meredith) Durham, Scott (Niki Zibisky) Kimble, Samantha (Rocky) Montgomery, Daniel (Kayla) Cash, Robert Cash, Michael Cash, Amanda (Jason) Sowa and Thomas Wittner. Great-Grandfather of Justin Durham, Alivia Durham, James Sims, Hannah Whipple, Titus Montgomery, Mattie Brook Montgomery, Mason Montgomery and James Sowa. He is the sibling of the late Darrell (survived by his wife Ruth) Kimble and Dennis (Susan) Kimble, his brothers-in-law Gary (Patty) Ledbetter, Chuck (Faye) Ledbetter and the late Tim (survived by his wife Tammy Mott) Ledbetter. Virgil is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Juanita (Larry) Freeman and Elaine (Art) Thomas, and many nieces and nephews.
Virgil attended Northwestern High School, Detroit, Michigan and graduated in 1953. He served in the Navy Reserves from 1952 to 1956. He worked and retired from the Detroit Free Press. He was a active member of Parkview Church of Christ and always willing to help when help was needed.
Visitation/Instate will be Thursday, October 29th from 10:00 am until the 12:00 pm Funeral Service at Parkview Church of Christ, 3333 E Thirteen Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48092. Mr. Steve Woodhouse will officiate. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, MI.
