Viola Deman's Obituary
Viola Deman died peacefully with her family by her side on August 7, 2025 at the age of 96. Viola was born on April 11, 1929 to Gustave and Louise Jerome in Middletown Connecticut. Her mother died 11 days after her birth from pneumonia. After her mother died, she moved to Michigan to live with her grandparents and then her Aunt Tillie.
She was a long-time resident of Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, where she was an active leader in the PTA, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a BSF Ladies group leader and children’s group leader. She was active with Silver Sneakers until she was 90 and was an inspiration to the younger ones in the group.
Viola is predeceased by her husband Henry, her sister Eleanor Krebs, her daughter Beverly Deman, her sons Brian and Kenneth Deman and her son-in-law Eric Clark.
She is survived by her sister Violet Deal and three of her six children, Sharon (Richard) Myers, Gary (Deborah) Deman, Barbara Clark, and her daughter-in-law Mary Deman. Grandmother to Allan (Shelby) Deman, Benjamin (Jazmine) Deman, Rachel (Michael) Green, Ian (Ada) Clark, Kevin (Sarah) Deman, Jesse (Annie) Clark, Jennifer Deman, Leif (Heidi) Clark, David Deman, Kristen Clark, Pamela Clark, and Rock Clark. Great Grandmother to Wesley Green, Waylon Green, Kodi Rae Green, Henry Deman, Levi Deman, Maverick Jo Green, Evie Clark and Daniel Clark with another one on the way.
Viewing will be from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM on August 13 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 17017 E 12 Mile Rd, Roseville MI 48066. The service will be at the church at 11:00 AM with a luncheon at the church following the service.
