Thomas A. Burnett Sr., age 85 of Ferndale, Michigan and formerly of Maywood, Illinois passed away peacefully at his home on June 30, 2024. He was born on February 12, 1939 in Maywood to Alvin H. and Mary V. (maiden Berndes) Burnett.
Loving Husband of Mary F. Burnett. They were married on June 20, 1959 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Beloved Father of Catherine Burnett, Patricia Brunett (Chris House), Cynthia Burnett (David Travis), and Thomas Burnett II. Cherished Grand & Great-Grandfather of Rebecca (Steve), Christina (Scott), Richard, Ashley (Ben), Dean II, Thomas III, Tyler, Jacob, Savannah, Kevin, Vic, Autumn, Cooper, Theodora, and the late Bella who passed in 2022. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara J. Burnett who passed in 2009, and Barabara’s husband, Richard Sherman. Thomas is survived by his nephew Stacy Sherman.
Thomas proudly served for many years in the United States Navy.
The burial will be held at Oakview Cemetery, in Royal Oak, Michigan.
