Thomas Barker Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas Barker Jr., age 69, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Ascension Providence Hospital, Southfield, Michigan. He was born on February 25, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Warren and resided in Royal Oak.
He was a loving and caring husband to his wife Donna. The best father a child could ask for to Tommy (Molly), Greg, and Katie (Joe). A grandfather of gold to Ryan, Juan Thomas, or JT as he is known, and Donovan. And a savior to his remaining siblings David and Debbie (Ledbetter). He also loved all of his sisters-in-laws, aunts/uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His life surpassed his parents Thomas Sr. and Aletha, grandparents Thomas and Lillian, and his brothers Gary and Kenny.
He worked for 29 years at Providence before he retired, and he loved every moment of it. He also loved everyone he worked with. He greatly enjoyed traveling with his wife in his later life, taking many day trips and driving across the country. In his down time he would do sudoku puzzles and crosswords, but there was one thing he enjoyed doing more. Spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a great husband, an even better father, the best grandfather, and a brother with a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial service’s will be held at a later date and time.
