Susan Lynette Chaffin's Obituary
Susan Chaffin, age 62, of Clarkston, died December 29, 2022. She was born October 6, 1960 in Cass City, Michigan to Thomas and Vonda (Pike) Thompson.
Susie, as she was lovingly called by her family, was mostly raised in Royal Oak and graduated high school in Anchorage, Alaska, where her father was stationed in the United States Army. She had been a fun mom and was an extremely creative individual. She was a thrift store connoisseur and loved finding vintage items. At one time she had been an avid reader.
Susie had been employed at Classic Lanes (Rochester Hills) for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Alan Chaffin, son Eric Chaffin, daughter, Nikki Chaffin (Andrew Derringer), brothers, Kevin (Kim) Thompson, Derrell, Bryan and Damon Thompson; sister-in-laws, Susan (Kenneth) Ryntz, Debbie Chaffin; nieces and nephews, Brandy (Shawn) Marsh, Jeremy (Nicole) Chaffin, Colton Ryntz and Dustin Chaffin. Susie is also survived by uncles Norman (Marcia) Pike and Wynston (Lynda) Pike and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother-in-law, Gary Chaffin.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 2:00 pm with a sharing of memories at 6:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, (one block north of 13 Mile Road on the west side of John R Road), Madison Heights, MI 48071.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family will be appreciated.
