My one and only sister (and my favorite one), What will I do when I go reach for my the phone to call you or text you? You don't answer?
Memories as the baby sister, I have plenty of. One that stands out is when I was little and like all little girls "loved make-up".I got into my sister's make-up and of course, it was a red color. I remember doing it and I still have that picture in my mind, but of course, no picture was taken. At first, it wasn't funny because I had it not only on my face but on her purse and all over the mirror and her vanity table. I know my older brother Dale will remember more memories I'm sure-since as I said, the baby sister! The most recent memory was when she came to visit me in Tennessee. It happened to be the week of my youngest's sons birthday. We had some really good quality time just us together. My sister was a lot like my mom in the same ways. Now, that I've said that she's definitely giving me that Shirley's look! She loved to cook and was an excellent cook just like our mom was. I know when things were rough, Shirley would always be positive to me and have me look and notice the good things. She'd do anything for anyone regardless of how she felt up until after she came home from the hospital recovering from Covid and getting her sugar balanced. She ended up being on oxygen 24/7, feeling very weak and tired. Her cancer came out of remission in July. That was another challenge for her.
Shirley was tired and the good Lord took her peacefully on our dad's birthday, August 12th. What a birthday celebration surprise in heaven with everyone that had gone to be with the Lord too soon or was sick.
I'll miss you Shirley so much and love you so much!
Always your baby sister, Linnea
