Sherl Lee Ladd's Obituary
Sherl Lee Ladd (Schmehl) age 71 of Warren, Michigan was born on October 26th, 1953 to the late Sandra and Edward Schmehl at Yellowstone Clinic and Hospital in Detroit, Michigan has passed away unexpectedly on January 3rd, 2025 at Henry Ford Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan.
A life-long resident of Michigan, Sherl loved enjoying the natural and cultural beauty of her home state and weekend trips camping up north. She was fond of crafting, especially with loved ones, and of the many animal companions she held dear throughout her life. Sherl spent many gratifying years caring for neighborhood children alongside her own, providing a caring environment where kids could play, laugh, and grow. Sherl’s love was spread throughout the community with several decades working in floral design, creating beautiful arrangements that have spread joy, sympathy, forgiveness, and thankfulness between countless. Sherl will be remembered as a loving wife, selfless mother, devoted grandmother (mema), and wonderful individual to have known and consider a friend.
Beloved and cherished wife is survived by her husband John of 52 years; stepfather William; children Daniel (Chris), Amy (Gary), and Heidi (William); grandchildren Caitlyn (Joey), Ryan, Alexander, Daniel, Lilly, Angela, Kaylee; great-grandson Declan; brothers David (Sharon) and Phillip (Laura); sister Lisa; sister-in-law Joanne; many nieces and nephews.
Sherl lives on through the memories and shared emotions brought on by her selfless acts of kindness and love. Sherl touched the lives of those around her with warmth, love, compassion, infectious laughter and generosity leaving an indelible mark on her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be forever in our hearts.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Sharing of Memories Service at 7:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan.
