Sheila Ann Conley's Obituary
Sheila Ann Conley, aged 78, passed away in her home on March 7, 2025 in Ferndale, Michigan where she was a resident for 30 years. Born at home on October 16, 1946 in Massillon, Ohio, Sheila spent her childhood and early adulthood in Ohio until her move to Michigan in 1977. She dedicated many years of her life working as a secretary before retiring as a case worker for the State of Michigan.
Sheila was renowned for her compassionate nature, her expansive heart, and her ability to be a great mother and friend. Her kindness extended to family, friends, and anyone in need. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Her life was marked by her love of crochet and crafting. Many of her family and friends were blessed with homemade blankets and garden stones from her. She was also a huge lover of animals, especially cats, who were cared for like her children. She had a unique ability to tell jokes and make those around her laugh, bringing joy and lightness to many.
Beloved Mother of Jeana (Boyd) Grooms. Loving Grandmother of Brontë, Austen and Chase Grooms. Sister of Ettie (Dorothy) Conley, Dan Conley, Terry (Jeanette) Conley, Margie Moore and Jeannie Gotthardt and survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Regina Vaughn.
A memorial visitation to honor Sheila’s life will be held Saturday, April 12th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a family service at 6:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block north of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road) Madison Heights, Michigan.
Sheila’s life was a testament to the impact one individual can have through simple acts of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
