Ronald Leo Thies' Obituary
Ronald Leo Thies, age 81 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022 with his loving children by his side. He was born on December 27, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan to Leo and Helen Thies.
Beloved Husband of the late Beth Karen Thies. They were married for 55 years. Dear Father of Bonnie (Jeffrey) Rinkus, Barbara Strick, Brenda (David) Hill and Ronald (Michelle) Thies, Jr. Grandfather “Papa” of Monica (Allan), Craig, Marina, Lauren (Avery), Brooke (Johnathon), Rayna, Addison, Luke, Nolan and predeceased by his grandson, Brian Strick. Great-Grandfather of Raelynn, HazelMarie and Anthony. Brother of Raymond (Karen) and Judy (Charles). He was adored and will be missed by his dogs, also called his “kids”, Fiesty and Mittens.
Ronald worked for General Motors as an electrician from 1965 to 2002. He served in the Air Force.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 7th beginning at 10:00 am Instate and followed by the 11:00 am Service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 East Fifth Street, Royal Oak, Michigan with Rev. Jakob Andrzejewski officiating. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
