Ronald "Rick" Malak's Obituary
Ronald “Rick” Malak, age 70, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 04 surrounded by his family. He was born October 04, 1947 to Barney and Emma (Kaganac) Malak in Detroit. Preceded in death by his daughter, Jodi Pichette Malak in 1996. Rick was a builder by trade, building over 40 homes throughout the Metro-Detroit area with Malak’s Construction. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including his beloved grandchildren, and tooling around Madison Heights visiting his family and near-by friends. His smile, jokes, and laughter will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Gehrke) Malak of Madison Heights; dear friend JoAnn Pichette of Madison Heights; children Ronald (Melissa) Malak, Jennifer (James) Smith, and R. Ricky (Michelle) Malak of Madison Heights, Jennie (Shane) Lekich of Troy, and Daniel (Heidi) Malak of Clarkston. Fifteen grandchildren: Katie, Gary, William (Billy), Samantha (Sammy), Ethan (Iggy), Amanda, Tyler, Mykayla (Stella), Shelby, Daniel (Brother), Jake, Jodi, John-William, Elisabeth (Betsy) and Craig with whom he loved with all of his heart. Brother of Barney (Mary) Malak (deceased), Nancy (John) Procter (deceased), Bernadine (Harvey) Aydlot, Joseph, (Cindy) Malak, Emma (Ronald-deceased) O'Keefe, Dennis (Jewel) Malak, Susan Lewandowski, and Michael (Debbie) Malak. Uncle of a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation times Sunday, May 06, 5-9pm and Monday, May 07, 3-9pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, 48071. Funeral Service Tuesday, May 08, lying in state 9:30-10am with mass immediately following at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, on Herbert St., south off 12 Mile Road between John R. and Dequindre, Madison Heights, 48071. Final resting place Oakview Cemetery, 1032 N. Main Street Royal Oak, 48067.
