Ronald John Giera's Obituary
Ronald John Giera, a cherished member of our community, passed away on August 25, 2023, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born on August 25, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, to parents John Thomas and Genevieve Giera.
Ron was a beloved brother to Annette Wilton (Gary) and Dolores Ciesliga. He maintained a meaningful friendship with his former wife, Zona Roth. Ron's legacy lives on through his children, daughter Theresa Roberts (George) and son Thomas Giera (Jamie). He was a doting grandfather to John Taylor (Kristina), Ashley Roberts, Tamara Taylor-Rush (James), Nicholas Roberts, Amber Roberts, Shawn Martin, Daniel Roberts (Mataya), and Nicholas Martin-Giera. His devotion extended to his great-grandchildren, including Alyssa Taylor, Nathaniel Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Christopher Rush, Dylan Rush, Grayson Roberts, Aubrey Rush, and Morgan Rush.
Ronald was a dedicated member of the UAW for over 50 years, contributing significantly to his community and profession. In his well-deserved retirement, he found joy in tending to his garden, embarking on various projects, and treasuring moments with his family.
We invite you to join us in honoring Ronald's life and sharing cherished memories at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The service will take place at Hopcroft Funeral Home, located at 31145 John R. Road, just one block north of 13 Mile Road on the west side of John R. Road, Madison Heights, Michigan.
Ronald John Giera will be deeply missed but remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire us.
