Robert L. Mulligan, age 84 of Royal Oak, passed away Dec. 16, 2016. He was born August 2, 1932, in Detroit. Beloved husband of Marty for 60 years. Dear father of Laura (Ted) Rudy, Lynne (Stephen) Barron, Michael (Barbara), Lisa (Rick) Stephens and Daniel. Cherished grandfather of Katie (Jason) Cerini, Dan (Meaghan) Rudy, Betsy (Nick) Whitney, Andrew Barron, Victor Barron, Claire Barron, Christian Mulligan, Bettina Mulligan, Phillip Mulligan, Chelsea (Chad) Lasceski, Clay Stephens, Louisa Stephens, Eva Stephens, Blake Mulligan, and Kelly Mulligan. Loving great-grandfather of Dylan Cerini, Makayla Cerini, Savanah Cerini, Braeden Rudy, Olivia Rudy, and Evelyn Whitney. Brother of Mary Virginia Taylor. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Barbara Moon and brothers, William, John “Chuck” and his older brother James “Joe” who passed away later in the evening the same day. Visitation Monday 5 - 9 pm and Tuesday 4 - 9, with a Rosary at 7 pm, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights. Funeral Wednesday 10:30 am Instate followed by 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
