Robert David Boyd Sr.'s Obituary
Robert David Boyd, Sr., of Hazel Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on November 21, 2023 at age 67. He was born on January 25, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan.
Robert was well known by many people by many names. He was known as Big Bob, Roofer 149, Ruby, and Elmer Fudd. He is survived by his son, Robert (Angela) Boyd Jr. and grandchildren Shelby Boyd and Nicholas Boyd, who will miss him immensely, along with longtime girlfriend Gail White. His siblings, Joel Boyd, Michael Boyd, Thomas Boyd, Dianne (Michael) Hall, sister-in-law Jody Boyd, and many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents Walter H. Boyd, Jr. and Marie J. Boyd, and brothers Raymond Sr. and David, sister-in-law Diann.
Robert was always a very kind, honest man who would do anything he could to help those in need. He led his life by his faith with God, wanting to spread that kindness and love throughout those he met. He loved to tell his stories and make people laugh and wanted to ensure everyone was taken care of before himself. “Who Loves you…God Does”
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Funeral Service on Monday, November 27th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
