Richard Stevenson's Obituary
Richard Adams Stevenson; age 72; of Hazel Park passed away Saturday May 31st, 2014. Richard was a lifelong friend of previously deceased John W. Lewis and spent many an afternoon visiting with friends at the Lewis Tire Shop. Saturday again started out an afternoon of laughs and storytelling. After visiting with friends Richard suffered cardiac arrest.
Richard was the Loving husband of predeceased wife Vicki Stevenson; beloved Father of daughter Jennifer Wilson; proud and devoted Grandfather to John Jr. Wilson, 2 years old and Ray Lynn Wilson 1 year; beloved Father in Law to John Wilson; and beloved family friend to John and Paul Lewis; and beloved paternal friend for Jeremy Lewis, Madison Lewis, Cristian Kelly, Luke Lewis, Paulina Kelly, Josh Lewis and Cruz Lewis.
Richard Stevenson was a proud and honored Vietnam Veteran who survived against all odds. He attended St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church of Hazel Park and retired from Chrysler Motors. Richard was a natural born storyteller. He had the unique ability to make conversation with anybody at any time and in any situation. Richard most loved spending time with family and friends. Richard's eternally optimistic personality and loving character graced those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5pm to 9pm with a Service at 7pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, Hazel Park Chapel. Burial at Oakview cemetery.
