Richard Dale Cowles, Sr., age 87. He was born on April 1, 1934 and passed away on August 12, 2021.
To my wonderful husband and the just short of 68 years we spent together. To the memories you shared of your young years on the farm and your adventures in the woods. Of your taste for sailing on the Great Lakes freighters, as your father, Capt. William J. Cowles, Jr., your Uncle Judson and your grandfather, Capt. William J. Cowles, Sr. did before you. Of our awesome three children, together. Of the days running your business, General Caster Service, for more than forty years, together. Of the loss of our dear son, Rick Cowles, Jr., together. You were the most charismatic, strong, brave person ever. You will forever remain in our hearts. Of our children, Richard (surviving Cheryl) Cowles, Jr. (deceased), Lori Ann Gabriel and David (Carol) Cowles and our grandchildren, Amy Gabriel, Stacy (Chris) Polemitis, Kelly (Jeff) Michrina, Richard Cowles, III, Joseph (Taylor) Cowles, Jennette Cowles and Jerica (Mike) Pawley and of our eight (soon to be nine) great-grandchildren and all the family times we spent together, Godspeed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 3:00 pm with memorial visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan.
