Renee loved spending time with family up north on the river to go boating, swimming, and fishing. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family during holiday get-togethers and other special gatherings. Renee had the gift of mercy and hospitality, which was obvious when she was entertaining or helping those around her. The concern and care of those around her was always priority above her own needs.
Raising four boys, she was able to handle and nurture their many needs through various stages of their lives. Renee loved attending the many activities her boys were involved in, which spanned from band, various sports, church activities, and other school functions. Renee adored and was very proud of having all boys, and mentioned many times she would not have it any other way.
Renee was an active member of her Church where she enjoyed going on weekend women’s retreats. She looked forward to strengthening friendships and creating new ones during the course of these trips. She was also involved with many youth outings and events, worked in youth bible studies, and also taught many years of children’s Sunday school hour. Renee had a rewarding experience when she joined the teen mission trip to New Orleans and always wished to go back.
Renee started her working career at Beaumont Hospital after graduating from Royal Oak Dondero High School in 1987. After becoming a mother, her career switched to a stay at home mom, which was a stage of her life that she cherished and truly loved. Renee went back to work for the Lamphere School District once the youngest son was in school full time. She had worked for the school district ever since and thoroughly enjoyed working around all the children.
In her spare time, Renee enjoyed many forms of crafts including card making, scrapbooking, calligraphy, and decorating the home during all the seasons throughout the year. At holiday dinners, she made special place setting favors for her guests to take home.
Renee enjoyed all of her family trips and vacations, especially the trips to Mackinaw, the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, and Florida. Most importantly, it was her time that she was able to spend with her family that she treasured the most.
Renee’s positive attitude, spiritual gifts, and love for her family and friends will be felt forever.
