Raymond Carl Garrett, age 84 of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on August 5, 2013 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital - Clinton Township, Clinton Township, Michigan. He was born on October 12, 1928 in Russellville, Alabama.
Raymond is the Beloved Husband of Ruth Garrett. Father of Raymond Eugene (Shari) Garrett and Sheila (Robert) Sparks. Step-father of Gail (Morris) Hinson, Keith (Debbi) Barnett and Steve Barnett. Grandfather of Stephanie (Eric) Wright, Jennifer (Matthew) Paterson, Steven (Lisa Wanket) Sparks, Shaun Searle, Brent John (Amber) Searle, Bradley (Caroline) Garrett, and Austin Garrett. Step-Grandfather of Keith (Nina) Barnett, Jr., Wes Barnett, Angela Myna (Jim), Sam (Michelle) Barnett, Jessica Barnett, Josh Barnett and Nicole Barnett. Great-Grandfather of Emily and Claire Paterson, Jada Garrett and Annistasia Lyne Searle. Step-Great-Grandfather of Keith Barnett, III, Keagan Barnett, Kolton Barnett, Sawyer Myna, Jax Myna, Annabelle Myna, Jewell Barnett and Abigail Barnett. Brother of Jean Thornton.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, gardening, Alabama Football and Tiger Baseball. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. He was loved dearly by his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, Michigan. Mr. Steve Woodhouse and Mr. Clifford Tucker will officiate. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
