Raymond Chaffin's Obituary
RAYMOND H. CHAFFIN of Rochester Hills, formerly of Troy and Madison Heights, passed away on August 8, 2007. In addition to his parents James Walter “Mack” and Lake Erie, nee Perdieu, Chaffin, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jean, one brother, James Walter Chaffin, Jr., one sister, Gladys Laverne Edwards and two sisters-in-law, Vivian Chaffins and Pauline Chaffin. He served in the U.S. Army During WWII. He retired from TRW in 1982, was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Roseville Lodge 522, belonged to the Fellowship Baptist Church in Madison Heights, and was a former member of the Sterling Heights Assembly of God. He is survived by his children Gary (Debbie) Chaffin, Alan (Susan) Chaffin, and Susan (Kenneth) Ryntz; grandchildren Brandy (Shawn) Marsh, Jeremy (Nicole) Chaffin, Eric Chaffin, Colton Ryntz, Nikki Chaffin, and Dustin Chaffin; Great-granddaughter Taylor Marsh; siblings Clyde Chaffins of Wilmore, WV, Hiram Chaffin of Greer’s Fairy, AR, one sister, Rebecca "Bug" Chaffin of Chicago, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel, Saturday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Sunday 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm, services Monday 10:00 at the funeral home. Burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Masonic Foundation for Children (online donations accepted).
