Husband of the late Lucille. Companion of Irene Rhodes. Father of Mary Anne (Bobby) Mathey, Susan (Rod) Prater, and Rae Lynn (Daniel) Klaus. Grandfather of Robert and Raymond Mathey, Nathan (Amy) Prater and Anita (Paul) Pulkki. Great Grandfather of Bobby Ann and Rodney Prater. He was a second father to Douglas and Dennis Rhodes. Grandpa "Buddy" to Erin and Joshua Shurter, Tiffany Lawrence and Godfather to Jessica Smith. He was blessed with many good friends and neighbors and will be sorely missed by all. He retired in 1980 after 32 years with Ford Motor Co. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a survivor of a Kamikaze attack on the USS Hancock.
