Phyllis Ann Kowalewski's Obituary
Phyllis Ann (maiden Coppola) Kowalewski, age 82 of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on March 26, 2024 at Beaumont Hospital. She was born on June 17, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan.
Phyllis was one of three children and spent her childhood in the Detroit area. Her mother and father were Helen and Raymond Coppola. She graduated from John J. Pershing High school in Detroit, Michigan in 1959. She married Anthony Vincent Kowalewski in 1962 and he passed away in 2002. She became a Mother to her cherished son on November 29, 1964. The three of them settled in Madison Heights in the late 1970s.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Anthony Raymond Kowalewski and daughter-in-law Kelly Kowalewski. Granddaughters Shelby Kowalewski and Lindsay Bonar. Her sisters Judy Brao and Mildred Holland. Along with a niece and three nephews. She is also survived by many lifelong friends.
Phyllis was a very unique and warm soul. She absolutely loved dogs and that was a big passion of hers. She could make anyone laugh. She was an amazing cook. She loved to go to the casino and play the slots. She loved hosting Christmas Eve and loved having her family and friends over for Boggle. To many, especially her granddaughters, she was known as Baka. She is a great loss to a lot of people. She will forever be loved by so many.
Phyllis loved her dogs and was very passionate about donating to shelters so the family is asking instead of flowers to make donations to a shelter or Humane Society of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan.
