Paul Horton Schubring's Obituary
Paul Horton Schubring, age 82 a lifelong resident of Dearborn, MI passed away November 1, 2014. He was born October 8, 1932 in Ferndale, MI to the late William and Leah Schubring.
Paul always enjoyed being with his family. He was extremely patriotic. He always had several U.S. flags hanging on his front porch, in his car and in his home to show everyone how proud he was of America. He would also give members of his family flag mementos of one form or another.
He was intensively proud of being a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served in the Korean War during 1952-1955. He was awarded three medals for Good Conduct, National Defense Service and Navy Occupation. He served 5 years in the Marine Corps Reserves and 5 years as a Marine Corps Honor Guard. He was a past Commandant and Life Member of the Commandant of the Dearborn Detachment.
He married his late wife of 44 years, Ramona Lee Fisher on January 18, 1964 in Dearborn, MI.
Paul was the youngest of five siblings. He was the loving brother of the late Janet Audrey Lamoureux, Alta Mae McClintock, William Bauer Schubring and Reba Grace Trowbridge. Beloved Uncle to Grace Horan, Janice Nichols, Henry McClintock, Margaret Zajechowski and Leanna Tucker and their extended families.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 3pm until the time of services at 4pm. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Paralyzed Veterans of America or The Wounded Veterans of America.
