Paul Arthur Dieckmann's Obituary
Paul Arthur Dieckmann, age 73 of Hazel Park, Michigan and formerly of Grosse Pointe, Michigan passed away on November 29, 2022 at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights, Michigan. He was born on October 7, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan.
Beloved Husband of the late Jacqueline Dieckmann (June 23, 2011). They were married on December 30, 1984. Loving Father of Melissa Ann Dieckmann (deceased), Erica Lynn Lapham (Lucky) and Michael Paul Dieckmann (Ashley). Grandfather of Amber Crawford, Anthony (Amber) Crawford and Jaden Switkowski. Son of the late Louis Arthur and Gertrude Irene Dieckmann. Brother of Harold (Tina) Dieckmann.
Paul was a kind, adventurous and loving man with a huge heart. He never let his vision stop him from pursuing what he wanted. He was part of a blind bowling league as a child. Graduated from Wayne State University, Auto and Semi mechanic, voluntary probation officer, sky dived 10 times. He helped make it legal for blind people to hunt with a licensed hunter.
Paul loved to spend time with his family, friends and newcomers. He also loved to fish along with deer and turkey hunting. Paul most definitely had a love for NASCAR, baseball and football. Most of all, Paul was sober from alcohol for 36 years and he loved and inspired many along his journey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 10th at 10:30 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan.
