Owen Sodders' Obituary
Owen Sodders, age 87 of Ferndale. He passed away on March 6, 2010 in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Owen was born on March 10, 1922 in Dahlgren, Illinois to George and Alice (nee Adcox) Sodders.
He was a highly decorated WWII veteran with over 100 bombing missions in Europe and Asia. Longtime member and former Grand Master of Masonic Lodge # 570 of Hazel Park.
Owen was the husband of the late Doris (nee Davis) Sodders and the late Irene (nee Paczkowski) Sodders. Father of Barbara (Douglas) Kellerman and the late Judith (Sodders) Mattice. Step-father of Dianne (Wayne) McLendon. Grandfather of Kevin (Janet) Kellerman, Carin (Marc) Edelstein, Susan Kellerman, Dennis Bersche, Amy Soniat, Cheri Sloan, Denise Bersche and the late Daniel Kellerman. Step-grandfather of Daniel (Jodi) McLendon, Deborah (Christopher) Kilby, and Tara (Tony) Mazzorana. Great-grandfather of 16. Owen is pre-deceased by his brothers, Frank (Beulah) Sodders, Otis (Lucille) Sodders, Ted (Blanche) Sodders, Paul (Irene) Sodders and his sister, Ruth (Charles) Howell.
Visitation Monday 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Tuesday 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R., Hazel Park. A Masonic Service on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service on Wednesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Memorialize Owen with a donation to Beaumont Hospice or the charity of your choice.
