Hey buddy! you will be dearly missed... Godspeed!
We knew Norwood through several Solar classes (backpacking, car camping, first aid). His passion for life, nature, travel and new experiences made him a pleasure to be around.
He was a truly unique person and always had something interesting to say.
He will be greatly missed.
I met Norwood through SOLAR; we took a Wilderness First Aid class together. Although I did not know him well, it was always a pleasure to have Norwood around. He was always a calm, peaceful man with a beautiful smile that warmed the heart. I extend my sympathies to Norwood's family and friends for your loss.
I knew Norwood through SOLAR and was deeply saddened to learn of his death. He was truly one of the sweetest, gentlest souls I have ever met. And his smile was magical--his whole face crinkled in happiness.
I ran into Norwood once at a restaurant where he was dining with a group of people from, I think, the Society of Creative Anachronism. When he saw me he flashed that killer smile and danced over in this marvelous green and purple outfit--at least that's how I remember it (and I think there were stripes in there, too)--to say hello. Just remembering that image of him makes me smile.
What a gentle, dear soul! I will remember him and his nephew at the paddling class. He seemed so happy to be with his nephew and to share his love of the outdoors with him.
I only knew Norwood peripherally through Lisa, but will remember him fondly nonetheless. Especially that dazzling smile.
My sincerest of condolences to the family. Nancy
I had the pleasure of working with Norwood for about 6 years, first at S-Y, then at YNA. At YNA,he worked in the IT department that I used to rum, so I knew him and his work quite well. He was a true professional and received only accolades from his internal customers, his peers, and his superiors. As a person, he was liked by all and truly enjoyable to talk with. He always had a calm, easy-going smile for all. He was well-loved by all at YNA and everyone is in a state of shock over his passing. He had a life fuller than most and the promise of the rest of his life being lost is incomprehensible to us. He will be sorely missed.
Judy, Alice, and Anthony, I just learned of Norwood's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Amy
I knew Norwood through his activities with the SOLAR Club, and was priviledged to be with him on a few trips, most notably, in the SOLAR Car Camping Class last year. Norwood was a wonderful, kind, person, with a great smile and quiet demeanor who will be greatly missed in the club.
He was scheduled to travel with us this past weekend to Ohio- we were saddened that we were unable to attend his funeral, but we reminisced about him, and felt that he was with us in spirit while we were on the trail.
My deepest sympathies go to Norwood's family and close friends- and especially his nephew, who he talked all of the time about.
Dear Judy and family, No words can express to you and your family how very sorry I'm for your loss. I pray for your family everyday-- I hope you realize how much we all love you. Judy-- I'm here if you need anything--you are part of my family and I love you!!
