Nora Lawitzke's Obituary
Nora Lawitzke, age 89 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away on May 5, 2023 in her home.
Nora was born on March 7, 1934 to James and Nora in Detroit. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1952, Nora married Ben Gobbell.
They bought a house in Hazel Park where they had seven children together. After her first marriage ended, Nora got remarried to Eldon Lawitzki and gained three stepchildren. Nora worked various jobs while raising her children and retired from being a press operator when she was 63 years old.
Nora had a large family who loved her. Parent to Gail (Ed), Diane (Dale) Laura (Bill), Ben, David, Larry, and Carl (Nancy). Step-Parent to Robert (Mary), Richard and Kathy (Jim). Sister to James, Theodore and Rose. Grandmother/great grandmother/great-great grandmother to many grandchildren and aunt to nieces and nephews.
Nora enjoyed doing embroidery, taking care of her many pets and crafting with beads. She also loved music and singing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 12th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
