Nick Jason Junco's Obituary
Nick Jason Junco, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2025, at his home in Ferndale, Michigan.
Nick is lovingly survived by his parents, Gilda and Roberto Junco; his siblings, Grace (Hussein) Darwich and Gilbert (Sue) Junco; his cousin, Michelle Dawn (Ken) Costante; his nieces, Sara (Nic), Anna, and Nina; his nephews, Shane (Mary Katherine), Max (Chelsea), and Roy; his great-nieces, Denvyr, Lucy, and Violet; his great-nephews, Kodi and Blake; and his beloved dogs, Jane and Edgar.
Born in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, Nick came to the United States with his siblings at the age of eight. He graduated from Bishop Foley High School in 1986 and began his career at Royal Oak Community Credit Union, where he started as a teller and rose through the ranks to become a Senior Accounting Associate. Nick also found joy in hospitality, working at Hudson’s Lakeshore Grill for several years, and most recently, Pronto.
A proud member of a local bowling league, he treasured the camaraderie and fun it brought to his life. Nick loved spending time in his garden and caring for his many plants. His home was always filled with greenery and life. He also had a special bond with his dogs, who brought him comfort and companionship every day.
Nick was a vibrant, spirited soul—a force to be reckoned with—his energy, kindness, and laughter left an impression on everyone who knew him. He was blessed with a wide circle of lifelong friends who adored him as deeply as he adored them.
He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest peacefully, alongside his late dogs, Frost and Bronte.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9th from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 10th at 11:00 AM at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071. Burial will take place at Roseland Park, Berkley, Michigan.
