Molly Peric Hribar's Obituary
Molly Rauniker Peric Hribar, age 100 of Warren passed away on June 7, 2012 at her home. She was born September 19, 1911 in Carona, Kansas.
She is the beloved wife of the late Carl Peric (died in WWII) and the late Frank Hribar.
Molly was a great teacher. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma in 1935. In 1953, she received her Master’s degree in Education from Wayne State University in Detroit. She taught a total of 35 years; 5 years in Oklahoma and 30 years in Hazel Park, MI.
Molly was a member of the Slovene National Benefit Society, Lodge 677, since 1946. She participated in many activities and performed in an official capacity too. Upon her retirement, she pursued playing the button box accordion with her late sister Ann Stromar, who also died at age 100. They played with the Slovenian American Button Box Club of Melvindale, Michigan up until the age of 93 and 95. Her Slovenian heritage greatly influenced her life.
In addition, Molly traveled extensively, enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching baseball and football games, reading mail from out of state family and friends, and spending time with her 2 surviving doggies Carmel and Jodie. Molly was an amazing, magnificent woman who was truly blessed to be able to live independently until recently. Her compassion and Love for Life will be sadly missed, but always cherished by her surviving loving family and friends.
Visitation Sunday 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the funeral Monday at 11:00 am at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, MI. Burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
