Michael John Wiggins' Obituary
Michael John Wiggins, age 50 of Ferndale and formerly of Hazel Park passed away on May 4, 2016 at home. He was born on June 13, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan.
Husband of Cindy (maiden Dugan) Wiggins. Father of Cat Dugan and Ian Wiggins. Son of Donald and Alyce Wiggins. Brother of Donita Wiggins and David Wiggins.
Michael was born Guilain Michael Palmateer, "Wiccan'd" in a Gardnerian Coven as well as baptized in the Catholic Church. He figured out everyone should have a Connection with God/Goddess and it was not his job to tell them which path is right for them but help them find their own path. He began his support of ConVocation as a security volunteer in 1997, then as Security Chief in 1998 and 1999 and has served on the MEC BOD since 2000. In that time, he has served as ConChair three times and has also served as President. Michael recently received a "Pagan of the Year" Award for 20 years of service to the Pagan Community. Michael was a partner in "The Phoenix Cafe" a Co-op for all Communities. He was also part of "Dance Thru History" as a principal performer bringing history to life with dance, with shows that included 16th Century "The Renaissance Dance Troupe", 17th & 18th Century as "The Madam Cadillac Dance Troupe" and "The Belles & Bachelors of Fort Detroit" who perform the music and dance of the early 19th Century. Along with bringing Steampunks "Steamtopia" to Detroit. He was also a Reiki master and Shaman, Michael did all of this with the support of his family both blood and chosen.
Thank you Cynthia, Catrina and Ian who made everything in life worthwhile!
