Michael Lee Whitaker's Obituary
Michael Lee Whitaker, age 68 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on October 7, 2016 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born on October 14, 1947 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Otis and Annabelle (maiden Bonnett) Whitaker.
Cherished Husband of Nancy Whitaker for 49 years. Beloved Father of Christine (Tom) Stewart, Michael Whitaker and Melissa (Dave) Rose. Papaw of Jessica Stewart, Bailey Rose, Nathan Rose and Ryan Rose. Brother of Steve Whitaker and Greg Whitaker. Pre-deceased by his brother Jerry Whitaker.
Michael loved bike riding and watching his grandchildren play ball. He never missed one of their games. His grandchildren were his life and he was very proud of them. He loved his roses and had a green thumb when it came to his flowers (vegetables were another story).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Funeral Service at 7:30 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, Michigan.
