Michael Patrick Layou II's Obituary
It is with deepest sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Michael Patrick Layou II, who left us on June 2, 2025 at the age of 45 in Eastpointe, Michigan.
Michael was born on March 8, 1980, in Royal Oak, and from the very beginning, he touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. A man of character, integrity, kindness, and unwavering loyalty, Mike was known for his deep sense of compassion and his fierce love for his family.
He gave his time selflessly to the people he cared about most, especially his granddaughter Lilly-Anne and his late grandmother; both of whom he dearly adored. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, Mike made the world a better place just by being in it.
Mike was a hardworking and dedicated person who took pride in everything he did. In 2011, he met the love of his life, Angeline. Their love gave him the gift of fatherhood and together they raised her son Nicholas into the man he is today.
Mike is survived by his wife, Angeline; sons, Nicholas and Kevaughn; grand-daughter, Lilly-Anne; grandson, Zayne; father, Michael Layou (Leah); siblings, Cara Watts (Chuck); brothers, Jason Dickson (Corey), Tommy Davis (Chantel), and Darron Dickson (Katherine); mother-in-law, Verlena Stephenson; brothers-in-law, Bradley Benigni, Mark Cassis, and Jason Cassis; Sisters-in-law, Karen Prince, Jerolyn Cassis, Kardaline Cassis, Alicia Cassis, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Denise Kennedy; sister, Rachel Benigni; and brother, Aaron Dickson.
