Melvin R. Rasmusson's Obituary
Melvin R. Rasmusson, age 78, a lifelong resident of Hazel Park, passed on August 30, 2016 at his home. He was born in Detroit on November 25, 1937. Beloved husband of Hisa, loving father of Douglas (Millie) and Robert (Robin).Grandfather of: Christian, Hans, Bobby (Sally), Noah and Maddy. He is predeceased by first wife Vicki and son, Timothy Rasmusson.
He started teaching at Lincloln High School, in Warren, where he was a wrestling coach. Then he was Administrator at Lincoln Junior High. He became Principal at Beecher Junior High School, then Assistant Superintendent of Hazel Park Schools. He became Superintendent and held that position until his retirement. He was also a longtime School Board Member.
Visitation will be held, Friday (Sept. 2nd), 3 to 9PM, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, Hazel Park Chapel. Service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Funeral Home.
