Mary Mantha's Obituary
Mrs. Mary E. Mantha, age 79, of Ferndale passed away on April 5, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, after a short illness.
Mrs. Mary Mantha was born on June 17, 1930 to Mrs. Dorothy Kaehler and Mr. Eugenie Moorefield of Richmond, VA.
Mrs. Mary Mantha married Mr. Ernest T. Mantha on October 28, 1950 at St. Rita’s Church in Detroit. Mrs. Mary Mantha is preceded in death by her husband Ernest T. Mantha who died on June 30, 1993 and her mother Dorothy Eaton (Kaehler) who died June 16, 1987.
Mrs. Mary Mantha is the mother of Barbara J. Mantha-Nagrant (Joseph) of Bloomfield Hills, Kathleen A. Mantha-Mrozek (John) of Port Huron and George E. Mantha (Anne) of Ferndale. Mrs. Mary Mantha had seven grandchildren, Bailey, Grant and Spenser Nagrant, Caitlin and Nathan Mrozek and Allison and Elizabeth Mantha.
Mrs. Mary Mantha was a 56 year resident of Ferndale, and worked as a Registered Nurse at New Grace Hospital and William Beaumont Hospital. Mrs. Mary Mantha was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and participated in the senior citizen groups from both Ferndale and Hazel Park.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be at Hopcroft Funeral Home in Hazel Park starting on Friday, April 9th from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Hazel Park where Father Bede Louzon will officiate. Mrs. Mary Mantha will lay Instate at the Church starting at 9:30 a.m.
