Marvin Louis Bishop, age 89, of Hazel Park, MI passed away November 19, 2014. He was born August 12, 1925 in Mound, Illinois to the late Lee and Edith Bishop.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret Jean Bishop (McRae). Dear father of Rev. Shirley Ann (James) Ransom, Rev. Dale Alan (Vicky) Bishop, Linnea Louise (Robert) Elliott, Gene Thomas Bishop and the late David Louis Bishop. Survived by daughter in law Marlene Beach. Brother of the late Robert (Mary) Bishop, John (Helen), Mary Louise (Jewell) Rials. Grandfather of Suzanne Patricia Guerrie, Carrielynn Rose Wiz, Nanette Jean (Daryl) Ritthaler, Christina Ann (Branden) MacIntosh, Sandra Christine Ransom, Cheryl Ann (Michael) Taylor, Karen Sue Napier, David Michael Ransom, Joshua (Kelly) Bishop, Rev. Peter (Shanel) Bishop, David Bishop, Lauren Bishop, Tyler Elliott, Trent Elliott, Amy (Josh) Bennett and Avery Elliott. Great Grandfather of Anthony James Hoff, Brittany Nicole Corrin, Kayla Jean, Shawna Skylina, Zachary Steven, Margaret Jean, Wesley, Landin, Gabriella, Michael Anthony, Mary Stephani, Jacob Perry and Benjamin Lloyd, Audra, Cora and Tessa Bishop, Daniel and Jasmine Bishop, David and Talina Bishop, and Cole, Reese and Rowan Bennett. Great Great Grandfather Aubree Rae, Kerra Lee, Kyleigh Suzanne, Phillip Michael and the late Hanna Nicole.
Marvin was a life member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church and a believer in Jesus Christ. Marvin was also a member of the Berkley Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2pm to 9pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014, Instate 9am until the time of service at 11am at the Highland Park Baptist Church, 28600 Lahser, Southfield, MI 48034. Burial in Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Youth for Christ, P.O. Box 40801, Detroit, MI 48240.
