Martino Lucas Mande's Obituary
Martino Lucas Mande, age of 18 of Warren, Michigan passed away on March 11, 2023. He was born on October 20, 2004 in Mt Clemens, MI.
Martino was the beloved son of Vincent & Patty Mande, their first & only child. Loving Grandson of Garry & Barbara Seizert and the late William Horner & Millicent Ransome. Also survived by his many Uncles & Aunts: Raymond & Paulette Zeller, Garry Seizert, late Steve Seizert, Chrisie (Rick) Krstich, Mark (Jacinda Lisi) Seizert and Toby Horner. His cousins Kelsey Seizert, Nick Krstich & Koltin Krstich.
First and most importantly, Martino was a child of God, born again Christian. His faith is what defined him. He was involved in multiple church youth programs at Emmanuel United Methodist of East Pointe & Woodside Bible Church of Warren. He enjoyed & loved his church family and spent many hours in youth celebrations, bible study & camps.
At an early age, Martino joined Boy Scouts of America as a lil cub. He fell in love with the scout program, his friends & leaders. He was known as “Curly Top” to those scout friends. He earned many badges, honors and gained valuable life skills. “Curly Top” donated his beautiful, black curly hair 3 times to make dreams come true for child cancer patients. He finished his scouting journey as First Class Scout. Because of the experiences Martino had in scouts, he found his love for nature and the outdoors.
Martino, like his Dad, displayed a talent and love for music at a young age. He enjoyed watching and playing music with his Dad. He played the trombone for a short time and was taking piano lessons with Donna at EDB Studios this year. Martino loved animals. His first family dog was named Gersheim. He also enjoyed his pet snake, Lucy, and his adopted dogs Spike and Ginger.
Tino played many sports. He played soccer & basketball for the Roseville Youth City Program. He attended Jabari Karate Academy for years. Tino started cross country at Roseville High School and continued his passion for running when he entered Warren Mott High School. He also earned a spot playing for the Golf Team, Swim Team and Cross-country (top runner). He earned many metals & varsity letters in all sports. He loved his teammates & coaches.
Martino’s family life was rich. Our family spent many summers together at Grandma & Grandpa’s home in Harpers Ferry, Iowa. He loved Harpers for all the water sports, fishing, hiking and swimming. We spent every holiday together and frequently shared our church family events together. Martino made the time for his cousins by attending their sporting events, sharing sleepovers and just having crazy, silly fun. Martino grew up with 2 cousin-like-brothers, Nick & Koltin, and Kelsey was very close to Martino especially sharing their love for Halloween. Martino loved adventurous road trips shared with his Mom.
Martino’s personality was a reflection of his faith. He showed love to his friends & family in so many ways. He loved to make people laugh with his funny antics and facial expressions which were priceless. Tino loved to help others and would do anything for his family & friends. He had a way about showing his love that made people feel included and important. He was that person that would walk up to the stranger and take them under his wing. Tino would also be the voice or leader that would protect those that could not. He was fearless in many ways including stepping up to bring friends together that were once at odds. Martino would take the time to listen to others. He led by example for being yourself. He didn’t care what people would think and urged other to do the same. He would say “You don’t gotta be somebody you’re not, just be yourself”. He wasn’t materialistic. He was genuine. He was true to himself. He lived life to the fullest with no fear just a sense of adventure. You will be our hero forever. We will miss you dearly, Martino, until we meet again.
